The 6-7 year old DeKalb Pewee Tigers Football team opened up its 2013 season Saturday with a big win in the third annual Boys to Men Jamboree in McMinnville. In a matchup that faced the Tigers against Warren County’s Pioneers, DC brought home a victory, 30-12.

DeKalb looked good all game long, the starting squad being able to totally take command of the game, both offensively and defensively. Head Coach Brad Trapp, decided to substitute in his backups beginning late in the second quarter and the younger guys were able to seal the victory for DeKalb.
DC got off to a quick start, scoring on their first play from scrimmage on a 65 yard TD pass from Tiger quarterback, Briz Trapp to Conner Close. Konner Young was able to run in the conversion attempt and with little over a minute gone, DeKalb led 8-0.
Warren County’s first possession was ended prematurely, by Tiger

Ryan Thompson had a big day for the Tigers at the Boys to Men Jamboree. Thompson recovered a fumble and scored a touchdown for DC.
Ryan Thompson, when he recovered a Pioneer fumble deep into DeKalb territory. Thompson would cap his play on the very next play with a 30 yard scoring scamper. Briz Trapp would convert the conversion on a QB keeper, advancing DeKalb’s lead to 16-0.
Tiger Trey Crabtree would help force the Pioneers to punt on their next possession, giving the potent DC offense another scoring opportunity.
Marquez Chalfant wouldn’t need long to take advantage of it.
Chalfant would take the next play to the house on a 56 yard scoring rumble. Conner Close would convert the PAT, giving DeKalb a comfortable 24-0 going into the break.
The Tigers would allow Warren County to score on their first possession of the third quarter, however, the would stop the point after attempt, leaving DeKalb with an 18 point lead, 24-6.

second half in for a touchdown. The two point conversion would fail, but DeKalb would expand its lead back to 24, 30-6.
Warren County would manage one more touchdown in the fourth quarter, but the Tiger defense would stop the conversion attempt, giving DeKalb the win, 30-12.
The Tigers will play in Baxter next week on Saturday in another Jamboree. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
