The score was somewhat deceiving as the Tigers controlled much of the game both offensively and defensively.  Quarterback, Briz Trapp was able to march his team up and down the field seemingly at will while the strong Tiger Defense held the potent Bulldog offense in check throughout the contest.

Mistakes cost the Tigers some points both in the first and second half, but a late defensive stand sealed the victory for DeKalb.

The Tiger defense held the Bulldogs to a three and out to begin the game and the Tiger offense came out sharp to begin its first series.  Trapp led his team on a brilliant 10 play 50 yard drive all the way down to the Bulldog 16 yard before DeKalb fumbled the ball, giving the ball back to the Bulldogs.

Seven plays later, the Tigers would capitalize.

Behind big runs by both Ryan Thompson and Marquez Chalfant, the Tigers got a touchdown on a three yard carry by Chalfant.  Fittingly, Thompson would convert the two-point attempt for the Tigers and DeKalb took the lead into the break, 8-0.

Fentress County threatened in the second half, putting together a scoring drive of its own to narrow the Tiger lead to 8-6.  DeKalb would stop the PAT attempt,

however, and clung to a two point lead going into the final stanza.
