DeKalb showed well against an older Cookeville Cavalier team.  In the end however, DeKalb fell to the Cavaliers, 20-0.

Cookeville was able to keep quarterback Conner Vaughn and the Tiger offense off balance throughout the contest. Behind their stable of running backs, DeKalb planned to establish the run game and had some

though, and was able to hold back the Cavalier offense for a time, but began to wear down late, as the relentless Cookeville attack pressed on.

The smaller and younger DeKalb team did, however, gain valuable game experience before playing in their own Jamboree next week in Cookeville and entering the regular season in two weeks.
