While it wasn’t their most explosive offensive performance of the season, the DeKalb Junior Tigers stayed unbeaten, defeating the visiting Fentress County Bulldogs, 7-0 at home Saturday.

Conner Close and Joel Rader helped the DeKalb Defense keep Fentress County out of the end zone Saturday.
The stout Tiger Defense allowed just 93 yards of offense in the game and forced 3 Fentress County turnovers in the contest, and never let the Bulldogs mount any serious offensive threat in the contest.
The big offensive play of the day came with just 14 seconds left in the first half when Tiger quarterback Kolter Kilgore found Conner Close on a 24 yard touchdown strike on what would end up being the winning score of the game.
For the game, Kilgore passed for 34 yards and a touchdown, all to Close. Silas Cross ran for 27 yards on the day, while Drew Vickers had 23 and Konner Young had 11 yards rushing.
The Tigers will face rival Smith County on the 27th, when the Owls pay a visit to Smithville.
