Powered by a pair of Desmond Nokes touchdowns, the Tigers took revenge for their younger brothers Saturday, handing Crossville its only loss of they day of any team, 13-0.

Nokes put the Tigers on the board first in the in the first quarter of the game, but then struck again after intercepting Crossville near the DeKalb 40 yard line.

In perhaps the prettiest play of the season thus far, Tiger quarterback Kolter Kilgore handed the ball to tailback Issac Knowles, who found Desmond Nokes on a 60 yard TD strike just before the break to put DeKalb up 12-0.  Knowles would convert the PAT and DeKalb took a 13-0 lead into halftime.

That would be more than enough.

The Tiger Defense totally stymied and completely wore down Crossville throughout the second half, allowing virtually no Panther yardage throughout the remainder of the game.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 4-1 and remain in third place in the league.  DeKalb will take a week off, but then will look to improve its standing on the 26th when current second place team, the Smith County Owls, travel to Smithville for what is shaping up to be the biggest game of the Tigers’ season to this point.

As all games will be played early that day, kickoff is scheduled for noon.
