Peewee Gold loses nail biter, 6-0

The Peewee Gold Team lost its first game of the regular season Saturday in a defensive struggle against the Fentress County Bulldogs.

The Black and Gold defense played well throughout, forcing two fumbles in the game and allowing only one play over 15 yards in the contest, and only 3 plays in double digit yardage.

The one they allowed, unfortunately, was the difference in the game.

Early in the fourth quarter, with neither team yet to break onto the scoreboard, Fentress County broke off a massive 35 yard run to the endzone that gave the Bulldogs the lead.  Their PAT failed, however, and the Tigers found themselves down, 6-0.

It looked like the Tigers would answer back, however, as Ryan Thompson burst

very next possession.  However, the Tigers made their one mistake of the game, fumbling on the next play, ending the Tigers drive, and effectively, their quest to remain undefeated.

For the game, Tiger quarterback, Briz Trapp, was 1 of 2 for 9 yards on the day.  Ryan Thompson ran three times for 63 yards, Konner Young ran once for 12

yards, Marquez Chalfant ran three times for 4 yards and Hunter Cantrell ran once for 5 yards.

The Tiger Defense gave up 116 yards in the contest and forced two turnovers.

The team will travel to Livingston Saturday to take on the Overton County Outlaws.
