It was a tough day mostly for the Saints last Tuesday when DMS traveled to Hartsville to take on the Satterfield Yellow Jackets.  DeKalb couldn’t recover from a disastrous first quarter and fell to the hosts, 32-14.

Trousdale managed 3 quick scores in the first 5 minutes and effectively put the game away before DeKalb could catch its breath. DeKalb outgained the Jackets 231-187 during the game and half of Satterfield’s came in the first quarter alone,  however the Jackets were able to take advantage, turning these yards into 3 touchdowns.

Tyler Bundy was again the Saints’ wheelhorse, rushing for touchdown and 84 yards on 22 attempts.  Quarterback, Colter Norris was efficient in the game, going 3-5 and 53 yards, however the fierce Jacket pass rush harassed him all game, forcing him to scramble more than he would have liked.

The underclassmen performed admirably, with back up quarterback Conner Vaughn finding Issac Hall on an 87 yard touchdown strike, in what would prove to be the Saints’ final score of the game.

Gaining 21 yards rushing in the contest, Hall also led the team in tackles during the contest, racking up 6 in the contest.  Tyler Bundy recovered a fumble for DeKalb in the second quarter for the Saints and Colter Norris helped with 3 tackles of his on during the game.

The Saints will return to Smithville Thursday night, when DMS holds senior night and homecoming activities.
