The Senior Tigers got back to their winning ways Sunday when DeKalb traveled to Baxter to take on the Monterey Wildcats in a make up game from the week before.  It was all Tigers all the time as DeKalb totally dominated on both sides of the ball.

Alan Munoz ran for 100 yards and a touchdown Sunday.

Alan Munoz ran for 100 yards and a touchdown Sunday.

The vaunted Black and Gold Defense lived up to its billing, allowing -54 total yards of Wildcat offense and forcing 3 turnovers, while the DC offense broke out, scoring three touchdowns off of 193 total yards.

For the Wildcats, though, it could have been even worse as DeKalb had three sustained drives stymied by penalties, giving the ball back to Monterey and spoiling what looked to be sure scoring opportunities.

Tailback Alan Munoz led the way offensively for the Tigers, running for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Axel Aldino seeming stayed in the backfield all game long, leading the team in tackles with 8 on the day.

DeKalb broke out early scoring touchdowns on its first two drives.  The first coming off of a 4 yard Munoz rumble to put DeKalb up 7-0 with 2:55 left in the first quarter.

Levi Driver would recover a Monterey fumble two plays later, setting DeKalb up at the 33.  Three plays later Munoz would again find the end zone to extend the lead to 14-0.

DeKalb’s last touchdown would come with 6:55 left in the game when Luke Jenkins would carry the ball in from 12 yards out, and after the Aldino point after, DeKalb led the contest, and ultimately won the game, 21-0.

Behind Munoz, offensively Issac Knowles ran 8 times for 33 yards, Desmond Nokes gained 23 yards, Malachi Hall got 22 yards off of 3 carries and Luke Jenkins scored a touchdown.

Defensively, Aldino led the team in tackles with 8 followed by Desmond Nokes who had 4.  Alan Munoz had 3 tackles, Luke Jenkins had 2 tackles and an interception, Issac Knowles had 2 tackles, Levi Driver had a tackle and a fumble recovery and Conner Crabtree and Evan Sprague each had a tackle in the game.

DeKalb will take on Fentress County Saturday, when the Bulldogs travel to Smithville.
