Saturday, the Smith County Jr. Owls defeated the DeKalb Jr. Tigers 21-7 in homecoming for the DeKalb Jr. Pro. teams.

While the Tigers were short on the scoreboard, they did show improvement, managing 121 yards of total offense, while the Tiger defense held Smith County to less than 200 yards of total offense.
Issac Knowles continued to impress, rushing 9 times for 75 yards and accounting for the Tigers’ lone score of the contest. Both teams fumbled twice and Smith County forced a Tiger safety.
DeKalb rushed the ball 32 times in the contest, averaging 4.12 yards per carry while Smith County pounded the ball 26 times for just over 6 yards per carry.
DeKalb will travel to Jamestown to take on the Pickett County Bulldogs this Saturday in what will begin a three week road trip to close out the regular season. The Tigers will try to avenge a seven point loss to the Bulldogs in a rematch of a game played on August 24th.
