The Sr. Tigers fell to the Smith County Owls last Saturday at Homecoming, 14-0.  The Tigers played well, but slipped on two Smith County drives, allowing the Owls two trips to the end zone.

Even in the loss the vaunted DC defense was impressive, again allowing very limited yardage to their opponent and forcing timely turnovers.  Smith County was able to control Tiger quarterback, Axel Aldino and his offense for much of the game, but the Tigers were able to move the ball at times, however, they could never cross the goal line.

The loss wasn’t devastating for the Tigers however, as the Tigers will get a rematch with the Owls next Saturday at Carthage in the first round of the MTYFC playoffs.  DeKalb will enter the tournament as a four seed and will rematch the number one seeded Owls at 7:30p.m.  The winner will face either the winner of Overton County and Fentress County, with both losing teams facing each other in a consolation game on October 11th.
